Cathy Pope‘s beautiful new jewellery collection is out today with the range titled Ashoka. Designer Cathy Pope has created stunning pieces that combine her signature precious gemstones with diamonds, bold chains and detailed emblems. The collection is inspired by the Indian Dharma Chakra or the Dharma wheel that appears in the centre of the Indian flag. It’s one of the most important and sacred universal symbols of ancient Buddhist and Hindu faith with the motion and the dynamism of the wheel symbolize peaceful change.
The range itself features eye-catching ethical diamonds on winsome earrings, rings and a pendant that are available in gold and silver. The modern Ashoka diamonds are framed by Cathy Pope’s signature chunky bold chains that are able to be shortened or lengthened with interchangeable industrial carabiners for a modern look. The range is designed to layer and works in perfectly with Cathy Pope’s previous jewellery collections allowing the wearing to create an individual look that is unique and fresh.
“I spend a lot of time in India working closely with the artisans who hand craft my jewellery and have always been fascinated by their rich cultures and diversity of religions,” says Cathy Pope. “The Ashoka wheel inspired me to design a collection that’s close to my heart and combine fine and bold pieces. By itself the diamond pieces were too delicate so I’ve added the beginning of an extensive and ongoing new collection of powerful, modern, big chains which I know my customers trust and love. The new carabiner and heart connector clasps are the ideal vehicles to add amulets and pendants from my other collections. Every collection should build from the previous and work together. My philosophy is to help my customers grow their jewellery collection mixing and matching the old with the new.”
