CAMILLA AND MARC recently released the brand’s latest range called IDENTITY for Spring/Summer 2022, which invites the wearer to ponder the idea of self and our connection to clothing. The brand describes the new range as ‘a collection of considered aesthetic choices, an intentional representation of a modern wardrobe, an ode to the art of dressing well and an invitation to deeply consider the concept of who we are when the material world is all but stripped away’.
“The intersection between dress and it’s connection to feeling has long fascinated me,” says Creative Director Camilla Freeman-Topper. “The inspiration of this collection was about exploring what happens to that feeling of joy, confidence and sense of self when you remove the material from the equation. Can we still connect to that powerful inner state when the clothes are stripped away? Can the art of dress then, become a powerful precursor to discovering a harmonious inner world that we could then use to define, explore and shape our own identity.”
The collection itself explores this renewed notion of identity and celebrates the idea of ease and harmony through a refined range of sophisticated pieces in keeping with CAMILLA AND MARC’s elegant style. The art of dressing and the feeling it evokes is at the heart of the collection and is reflected in the contemporary colour palette and tailored silhouettes.
IDENTITY offers elevated takes on the fundamental pieces of a modern women’s wardrobe. From classic trench coats, crisp shirting, tailored pants and chic blazers to natural textured knits and feminine dresses. The collection was designed with ease of wear in mind in natural fabrications such as mohair, wool, and organic cotton. The tonal colour palette of beige, white and crème, is warmed up with honeycomb and chocolate with pops of seafoam blue for vibrancy.
This latest collection is CAMILLA AND MARC’s most sustainably made range to date, as the brand is on a sustainability journey to explore new offerings and ways of doing things. The collection features responsibly sourced details and materials with key garments across the collection comprised of organic cotton, Nycose (sustainable viscose nylon), hemp and organic cotton blends, natural corozo buttons, and recycled draw cords and toggles across the brand’s SPORT collection too. The result is a timeless collection of pieces that honours the past and looks to the future in an optimistic way.
