Breast Cancer Foundation NZ and ghd have launched this year’s Pink campaign which encourages women to take control and self-check their breasts. To celebrate 16 years of supporting breast cancer charities globally, ghd have partnered with 11 incredible women who were diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 35 to share this message. 400 Kiwi women under the age of 44 are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and 9 women will be diagnosed today.

The ghd limited-edition Take Control Now collection aims to remind women around the world to donate some mirror time to their breasts and self-check every single month. The collection includes the award-winning ghd platinum+ styler, ghd gold stylers and new helios hairdryer, which are available in a sweet shade of dust pink and embossed with the central campaign message, Take Control Now. $20 from every sale from the pink collection goes to Breast Cancer Foundation NZ. To date ghd have raised over $19 million worldwide since the Pink campaign was launched 16 years ago.

While 90% of 18 – 35 year old women check their breasts only a few times a year or less yet most women spend over 20 hours a month in front of the mirror. We take the time to do things like straighten our hair, do our makeup, take selfies; why not add this into your self-care routine as well? It’s a simple and quick way to quite literally save your life.
