In a sustainable step forward Bonds have launched their first Organics underwear range for men and women in Farmers stores and online. The underwear is made with full traceability and manufacturing transparency using GOTS certified organic cotton. Bonds Organics are just as comfortable and fashionable as their usual range but with the added upside of being better for the environment.
“Prioritising sustainability, Bonds Organics is our newest range of iconic basics,” says Bonds Head of Marketing, Kelly McBride. “It’s Bonds’ first GOTS certified organic cotton range, making our product kinder to the planet, our people and the wearer.”
The Bonds Organics range includes a wide range of easy to wear pieces in warm, earthy tones with the brand’s signature Bonds elastic trim. The collection includes bikini briefs, gee and hi-hi styles for women, as well as soft, comfortable triangle bralettes and scoop back crops, to suit every body and style.
This move towards sustainability is part of meeting Bonds environmental goals for 2020 which include using less water and energy, increasing use of more sustainable raw materials, and continuing to support Australian farmers with homegrown Aussie cotton basics. The brand launched their Re-Loved Sweats range last year which utilised cotton fabric offcuts that would otherwise have been destined for landfill. They also launched their ReLoved Swim pieces made from recycled PET bottles. The changes aren’t just with the products themselves with Bonds removing the use of plastic bags and hangers from their online orders too.
For the Bonds Organics campaign the brand titled it ‘We Gots You’ and asked Australian musician, writer and sustainability advocate Cody Simpson and fashion muse Paloma Elsesser to front it. The imagery is joyful and gets across the message that Bonds new range is accessible and confident.
