BlackEyePeach XPLAIN NZFW 2016

Looks from BlackEyePeach on the runway at New Zealand Fashion Week 2016

The strobe lighting and Drake on the soundtrack really set the mood for Black Eye Peach to open the group showcase that also featured XPLAIN.

Black Eye Peach opened the show with crushed velvets, pinstripes, suits, subtle pops of colour, and of course New Zealand’s staple fashion colour black also made an appearance. We’re going to be spoilt for choice with bombers next season and Black Eye Peach showcased them in an array of colours and materials. There were flashes of scarlet to be seen in the vibrant red trousers and jacket for the gents but also on the burgundy coat for the ladies. If you love velvet and Alexa Chung is one of your style icons, you won’t be disappointed here. Velvet made an appearance in the form of blouses through to slinky slips. We love the floral suiting for both men and women from this collection and the forest green hues that were on show.

If you love the idea of layering that looks effortless but is in fact carefully thought out, XPLAIN’s collection is going to be right up your street. It’s no secret that we like our black clothing here in New Zealand and it was a signature colour throughout. Broken up with mustard pieces, pinstripes, prints and greys it becomes a lot less standard. We predict that mustard jumpsuit will fly off the racks when it’s available as will the exquisite coats.

Beauty Notes: No-makeup makeup to match the meticulous styling.

Soundtrack: 9 by Drake to open Black Eye Peach and then Ocean Drive by Duke Dumont for XPLAIN.

Hot Item(s): The velvet slip dress from Black Eye Peach is a must-have as is the floral number from XPLAIN.
