The debut collection of silk scarves from accessories brand BESS was a huge success last year and now they’re back with a second range called ‘Dotonbori Daze’. The new collection is for the Spring/Summer 2018/19 season and draws inspiration from the streets of Osaka, utilising traditional Japanese design elements and BESS’ bold, graphic aesthetic.

Founder and Creative Director, Nicole Sykes has created vibrant designs that feature intricate florals that have been scaled back to make flat, vivid, neon patterns which are cleverly layered over geometric shapes and logo-marks. The result is dynamic scarves in bright colourways that capture the visual feast that is the alleyways, marketplaces and bustling intersections of Japan.  It’s a fascinating place that is full to the brim with design, colour, self-expression and individuality.

Each collection is designed in New Zealand and produced by hand in the UK with each piece printed onto high quality silk twill and silk crêpe de chine. They’re beautifully hand finished and limited edition so you won’t find BESS scarves everywhere you turn.

Dotonbori Daze is available for pre-order on BESS’ website now.
