Augustine are kicking off the new year with a fresh new activewear label called Sweat Republic that’s online and in stores today, and features all the right pieces for exercise with a colourful Augustine twist. Perfectly timed for summer activities and all those ‘get fit’ New Year’s resolutions the range features vibrant hues and great fits that were developed over 18 months. Designer and co-founder Kelly Coe was determined to get the fit and fabrications perfect so that customers would get the best experience when wearing the new activewear.
“I have always been a really active person, playing sport all my life up until having my third child and now I run 5 times a week and coach my girls’ netball, so I know what want when it comes to activewear,” says Kelly Coe. “I didn’t want to launch a label that looked like anything else that was out there already, I wanted it to have a handwriting of its own and also look like it belonged to the Augustine family. It had to be colourful and yet functional and practical, vibrant yet wearable.”
The debut Sweat Republic collection is a big range with Kelly wanting to cater to lots of different tastes with the colours and styles available. From super brights like orange, fuchsia and neon yellow to subtle khaki, lilac and baby pink there are plenty of colour combinations for customers to be excited about. Styles include high waisted leggings and shorts have built in bike pants which offer great coverage. There’s also singlets that work perfectly over sports bras with low arm holes to showcase the colour underneath while mesh singlets also layer well over the supportive sports bras underneath. Lightweight jackets and hoodies make for excellent pieces for warming up or down while the collection is perfectly accessorised with training bags, caps and bum bags to finish off your look.
“The price point also needed to be affordable so we have priced it to match what you would spend at say Rebel Sports, it’s accessible,” adds Kelly Coe. “It is exciting to finally launch and I hope women love it as much as I do, its been a journey.”
