Until the last couple of years fashion has dictated we choose between 2 extremes: towering heels or flat-as-a-pancake ballet pumps or brogues.
Not so now! There is a plethora of mid heeled wedges and heels to choose from: whether they be chunky cone heels, quirky designs from United Nude or pretty kitten heels a la Mad Men.
The mid heel does take a bit of getting used to, conjuring up images of air hostesses, Mother of the Bride and Michelle Obama. But since the arrival of Kate Middleton, the mid heel has never been so chic!
No need to be “fierce” when you can be elegant.

CLIFTON by Clarks is a feminine fine toed pump with a vintage twist – pair with your pencil or full skirts. *Also in black.
SILENT by Clarks encases the foot on a low cone heel with back zip for extra edge. *Also in black. The nude colour elongates your legs and looks great with colour.
Get your tan on in this demi-wedge with platform and adjustable slingback. Pair with 70’s denim. *Also in black or grey.
We’re loving the beautiful blue leather and vintage feel of his Italian sandal by Everybody. Just think of it like denim, it goes with everything and is a softer alternative to black for summer.
JOY by Jeannot is a simply strappy sandal on a slim platform thats dressy enough for a wedding but do-able for daywear. Available in soft gold, bronze and black suede. We’re feeling the Grecian vibe of the soft gold.
LOLITA by Lodi is another strappy metallic on a slightly lower heel. Minimalist and pure, you’ll need to prep with a pedicure and a spray tan for these. Beautiful with block colour.
