7 skin scrubs we love for winter exfoliating

Winter is the perfect time to indulge in skin exfoliation, whether it’s face, body, or both. There’s something deliciously satisfying about buffing away tired skin cells and that post-exfoliate silky soft feel. Whether opting for a gentle everyday use treatment, or a more intense experience, it’s important to choose products most suited to your skin type. We’ve put together seven of our favourites that got a firm thumbs up from our team.

Winter exfoliating

Lush Vitamin C Exfoliating Facial Scrub, RRP$33.50

This little tub of goodness is Lush’s first Vitamin C product offering and delivers a satisfying exfoliate along with a subtle tingle (thanks to the 10% Vitamin C formula). In an appealing shade of deep boysenberry, which changes to light pink as it’s used, this can be used either as a mask (on clean dry skin) or a foaming face wash (just add water). We love multi-performers, especially ones handmade with love like this.

Winter exfoliating

Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment, RRP$208

Not everyone is blessed with good genes naturally, but help is at hand with Sunday Riley’s cult favourite Good Genes All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment. Designed to deeply exfoliate the skin surface for improved clarity and radiance, this super-concentrated treatment can be used daily as a leave-on treatment (even under makeup) or a mask. Powered by science and balanced by botanicals, glowing skin is within reach.

Winter exfoliating

dermalogica daily milkfoliant, RRP$119

This oat-based powder exfoliant stands out from the crowd. Just add the vegan powder to your wet hands and rub together to create a creamy later. It’s a little unexpected (in the best possible way) and coming from the professional dermalogical stable is clinically proven to smooth skin calmly. Plus, the gentle formulation has been designed for everyday use (Pro Tip – add the milkfoliant to your cleanser to create more of a foaming lather).

Winter exfoliating

Kate Somerville Exfolikate Resurfacing Body Scrub, RRP$95

If you’re keen to zone in on problem areas such as dry elbows, rough knees, and other stubborn body patches, this recently discovered cruelty-free, sulphate-free, and paraben-free body polish ticks all the boxes. And if you’re one of the many irritated by fragrance in products, this beauty is also fragrance-free. Pumice helps smooth and buff, while papaya, pineapple, and pumpkin enzymes help reveal naturally glowing skin.

Winter exfoliating

Fair + Square Rosehip Retreat Body Wash Bar, RRP$17

This is hands down one of our all-time faves in terms of everyday shower goodness. We’ve returned to bar love for 2022 and this one is truly worth its weight in rose gold. Packed with goodies including dried rosehip and red clay, there’s just enough exfoliant action there to be truly pleasurable. Handmade (in Northland), it’s affordable luxury using age-old cold process techniques and modern-day love.

Winter exfoliating

LALICIOUS Sugar Coconut Whipped Scrub, RRP$69

The sweetest treat you can imagine for your skin. Loaded with pure sugar cane crystals to exfoliate dry skin and cold pressed coconut oil to deeply moisturise, there’s also sweet almond oil for a boost of intense hydration. It all combines for an extraordinary end result of deliciously soft skin that smells of balmy tropical island holidays.

Winter exfoliating

Biologi BX Reveal Exfoliant, RRP$64

Biologi has become a firm favourite in our office for its impressive range of clean cosmeceutical skincare. This exfoliant was actually one of the first Biologi products we tried. As well as delivering results, we love the fact the handy single-use sachets deliver the perfect amount every time and ensure the 100% active ingredients are preserved. Honouring the brand’s minimalist approach to skincare, it contains just two ingredients – Australian Kakadu Plum and Rice Powder.
