As someone who has always been reluctant to engage in the intensity of traditional gyms, this year, I’ve been embracing my “soft girl era.”

It’s a time for slowing down, for aligning mind and body, and for focusing on exercises that nourish rather than deplete. This shift in mindset led me to Pilates—a practice I’ve come to love for its ability to build strength without the exhaustion. Recently, I had the chance to visit Redroom, and it felt like a beautiful space to continue this journey.
I felt instantly drawn to Redroom’s red-lit studio and unique atmosphere. There’s something powerful about working out in a thoughtfully curated space, where every detail—from the foyer to the studio mats—has been designed to elevate the experience. The moment you step through the doors, there’s a calm energy that transforms an ordinary workout into a space of renewal.
I attended Abby’s HIIT Pilates class, and was met with an experience that was both challenging and grounding. The class blended high-intensity intervals with mindful movements, creating a balance of effort and ease. One moment your heart is racing through powerful bursts, and the next you’re settling into restorative poses, reconnecting with your breath and body. Abby’s approach, offering modifications and progressions for all levels, allowed each participant to work at their own pace, creating an inclusive environment that felt natural and supportive.
The studio’s 40-degree heat and red light create a warmth that is intense but not overwhelming. Rather than feeling oppressive, the heat allows muscles to release tension and the body to move with greater ease. I expected to feel exhausted by the end, but instead, I left with a sense of lightness and clarity. Even the equipment—bands, mats, and weights—was sleek and functional, each detail enhancing the experience in a subtle but considered way.
The class flows transcendently where the combination of movement, breath, and the studio’s signature red glow creates a sense of overall wellbeing. Redroom has created a space where the physical, mental, and spiritual intersect. I’m already looking forward to trying out some of their other offerings like Sculpt Yoga, to further explore what this space has to offer.
