Christmas break is one of the most fun times of the year – with the family gatherings, the stacks of yummy food, and the exciting pops of festive colour in our Christmas outfits.
In this article, I want to show you how to dress for the festive season while embracing the Christmas spirit, but simultaneously refraining from digging out that reindeer sweater you got when you were ten.
Here are four outfit ideas for typical holiday events you might be partaking in..
Christmas Eve at Grandma?s
A nice evening at your Grandparents? or other relatives? house is always a fun way to ease in to the Christmas festivities. This does require a bit more planning in the fashion department though: nothing too tight or short. Something that Gran would approve of, but would also be in keeping with your regular style.

Christmas Morning
If your family is anything like mine, Christmas morning usually involves waking up early, eating breakfast as a family, and opening all of our presents (or opening presents before breakfast if you really can’t wait ‘til everyone else finishes their croissant!). Also, tons of pictures are usually taken (one with each tug of ribbon and wrapping!) – so you don’t want to wear just any outfit!
Christmas morning is a great time to wear your favourite festive PJs and comfy slippers.

Christmas Lunch
With the weather being quite iffy lately, Christmas lunch may be inside this year instead of a BBQ or picnic, and may require you to dress a little more warmly than what you would wore last Christmas.
A bright red sweater will keep the lunch vibe festive, while pairing the chunky knit with a pair of shorts or jeans will maintain your comfort-levels. If the weather fines up, you can always throw off your sweater, leaving yourself with a cute summer lunch outfit.

Christmas Dinner
Christmas dinner is the more formal event of the day in my family, so a more traditional dress is in order for this sit-down feast.
