2012 Award Season: Top 3 Best Dressed
With the award season for this year now behind us, it?s time to reflect on the most stylish celebrities that were spotted on the red carpet and more importantly, what they wore.
I?ve picked out my top three below.
Emma Stone
Killing it fashion-wise throughout the whole Season, Emma Stone looked particularly amazing in these three outfits. The tea-length Alexander McQueen on the left was worn at the SAGs. Channeling Old Hollywood, the dress is absolutely stunning, while the sky-high ankle strap pumps and gold-handled McQueen clutch keep the look modern and youthful. The maroon dress in the middle was Emmas Oscar look a Giambattista Valli gown. Featuring a high neckline adorned with an oversized bow, this was an excellent choice. She completed the look with a chic braided bun, soft pink lips, and some extrasparkly jewels. The look on the right is Emma at the Critics Choice Awards. This stylish emerald Jason Wu gown compliments her red hair perfectly, and the cutout style around the bust is exactly on trend for this year.
Charlize Theron
Charlize is another of my picks for best dressed this Award Season. In the left picture, she is wearing Reed Krakoff to the Varietys Indie Impact Awards. The pre-fall look is flawless, the sleeveless green silk dress is paired with black accessories to match the black panels on the dress. A draping effect around the waist adds a relaxed vibe to the look. The look in the centre, of course, is the Dior gown she wore to the Golden Globes. What a way to kick off the Awards Season. This dress is my favourite red carpet look. Ever. From the placement of the oversized bow to the dramatic tail hem and train, this gown is perfection, wrapped up in a rose pink package (with a sparkly headband). The look on the right is Charlizes dress for the BAFTA Tea Party. Stunning in Stella McCartney, Charlize is a vision in lemon. Her embroidered dress with peplum waist and illusion panels on either side was styled with neutral accessories, including beige sandals and a taupe Bottega Veneta clutch. So chic.
Stacy Keibler
Stacy was the perfect red carpet date this Season. She didnt try to take too many fashion risks, and showed us that understated chic can sometimes be the way to go – look how gorgeous she is in each outfit! In my opinion, she was the best red carpet partner George could have asked for. The dress on the left is from the SAGs – a stunning black Marchesa. The lace and mermaid tail hem perfectly capture two of the most exciting trends for the year. Stacy then donned a gorgeous sparkling Naeem Khan gown from the Spring 2012 line (centre image) with a sexy plunge in both the front and the back of the dress. Stacy paired her curve hugging gown with a red lip and beautiful retro golden curls. She also wore simple, classy accessories: diamond-encrusted Swarovski earrings, a Hellmuth ring, and an ivory ostrich Daniel Swarovski Arome clutch. The right-hand side image is of Stacys Golden Globes gown. This red Valentino, complete with plunging neckline and large red bow adorning the back was the perfect dress in which to kick off her Im-dating-George red carpet induction.
So there you have it, my top 3 picks for Best Dressed on the 2012 red carpet. Who was your favourite?
